How It Works
No door-knockers, no all-day sales pitch. Here is exactly what happens from your first call to your first lower bill.
We pull 12 months of your CenterPoint usage, run a satellite shade study on your roof, and walk the property to check structure, wiring and panel placement. You get a written production estimate and a real price — not a range.
Our in-house Houston crew handles engineering, City of Houston or county permits, HOA paperwork and the utility interconnection. Installation itself is finished in one to three days, and your roof stays under warranty.
The day permission to operate lands, your meter starts spinning backwards. Track production from your phone, claim the 30% federal tax credit, and let us handle monitoring for the next 25 years.

Houston Homeowners
Real installs, real bills, real Houston zip codes.
★★★★★“Our July bill went from $412 to $38. The crew finished the install in two days and handled the City permit and the HOA packet without me lifting a finger.”
★★★★★“They actually walked the roof and showed me the shade study instead of quoting a number over the phone. Production has beaten their estimate three months running.”
★★★★★“We added a battery after the last derecho. When the neighbourhood went dark for 19 hours our AC and fridge never blinked. Worth every dollar.”

Questions
The things people actually ask us on the first call.
A typical Houston home needs a 7–10 kW system, which runs about $18,000 to $26,000 before incentives. After the 30% federal solar tax credit that drops to roughly $12,600–$18,200, and most of our Houston customers finance it for less per month than they were already paying CenterPoint and their retail electricity provider.
Yes. Texas homeowners can claim the 30% federal residential clean energy credit, and Texas exempts the added value of a solar system from your property taxes, so your appraisal does not go up. Several Houston-area providers also offer local rebates and solar buyback plans that pay you for the extra power you export to the grid.
The install itself takes one to three days on a typical Houston home. From signed contract to switched on, expect four to eight weeks total, since that window includes engineering, City of Houston or county permitting, HOA sign-off where it applies, and the utility permission-to-operate approval. We handle every one of those filings for you.
They do. Modern panels run on daylight, not direct sunbeams, so on an overcast Gulf Coast day they still produce roughly 10–25% of their rated output. Houston averages around 204 sunny days a year, and net metering or a solar buyback plan credits your summer surplus back against the cloudy stretches.
Our panels are rated for 140+ mph wind uplift and 1-inch hail at 50 mph, and we engineer every roof attachment to Harris County wind-load code. Panels frequently come through Gulf storms better than the shingles around them, and the array is covered by your homeowners policy plus our 25-year workmanship warranty.
Only if you add battery storage. For safety, a grid-tied solar system shuts down during an outage, but pairing it with a home battery keeps your fridge, AC, internet and lights running through ERCOT grid events and hurricane outages. Most Houston customers size a battery for 12–24 hours of essential loads.
